100 ICONS: 10 Years of Big Eyes, Memories, and the Icons That Make Us Smile

100 ICONS: 10 Years of Big Eyes, Memories, and the Icons That Make Us Smile

100 icons. 10 years. One special collector’s print.

This one feels really special to share.

After 10 years of painting icons, I created 100 ICONS, a limited edition print that brings together 100 of my Big Eyes portraits from the last decade into one special collector’s piece.

My first icon portrait was Jackie Kennedy, and one of my most recent was Catherine O’Hara, painted as part of my Canadians in the Round collection. In between are 10 years of music, movies, fashion, comedy, glamour, commissions, collectors, and so many memories that still make me smile.

When I first started painting icons, I was inspired by Andy Warhol’s square close-up portraits and the boldness of pop art. My work began with the feeling of fashion illustration, loose brushstrokes, strong character, and a sense of play. Over time, my Big Eyes style became more refined, evolving into cleaner black outlines, brighter colour, flat pop-art moments, and expressive details that have become such an important part of my work.

But for me, these portraits have never just been about famous faces.

They’re about the songs they sang, the characters they played, the films and shows that take us back, and the memories that make us smile.

Some icons remind us of who we were. Some remind us of who we wanted to be. Some bring back a song, a scene, a concert, a laugh, a fashion moment, or a memory we didn’t even realize we were still carrying.

That’s what I love most about painting them.

It’s almost impossible to choose favourites, but Twiggy, Warhol, Prince, The Beatles portraits, and my black-and-white Audrey Hepburn still stand out in my mind. Elton John as Rocketman also became one of my most loved prints for years, which still makes me smile.

All of these portraits began as original paintings, and many are now living in beautiful homes because of collectors like you. Some are still waiting for that special connection and a home of their own, but in this print, they all come together in one joyful collector’s piece.

Why I Created 100 ICONS

I wanted to create something that celebrated the full journey.

Not just one portrait. Not just one icon. But a whole decade of faces, stories, style, nostalgia, music, movies, commissions, collectors, and memories.

100 ICONS feels like a love letter to the past 10 years of my work.

It’s a piece you can keep looking at and keep discovering. The kind of print where one person spots Elvis first, someone else sees Prince, someone else finds Audrey, Bowie, Twiggy, Elton, The Beatles, Lucille, Dolly, Warhol, Amy, or Jerry Garcia.

Everyone finds their own connection.

That’s what makes it so fun.
