Each print is an archival reproduction of the original painting, and are often referred to as giclée's. They are professionally printed on museum-quality paper with archival inks. Hand-signed and numbered by Michelle herself, every print comes with a certificate of authenticity, ensuring both quality and authenticity. Made to order with meticulous care, each print is securely packaged for delivery.

The difference between Giclée prints and HD Sublimation Metal Prints differ primarily in their materials and processes.

GICLEE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Giclée prints are high-quality inkjet prints using pigment-based inks, on fine art paper, and have a fine art appearance and resistance to fading. In contrast, HD Sublimation Metal Prints (ChromaLuxe), use a dye-sublimation process where the image is infused into a metal surface, creating vibrant, durable prints resistant to fading and water damage.

The Giclée prints have a 2” border, for example the image size is 30x30 with a 34x34 paper size, while the HD Metal prints have no border, so a 30x30 plus the frame.

Giclée prints need to be professionally framed and you can choose non-reflective museum glass or regular reflective glass, while my HD metal prints have a beautiful reflective glossy finish so no need for glass and come framed and ready to hang where as the Giclée prints only have framing options for the 10x10/12x12 size.

My Giclée prints are hand signed and numbered while the HD Metal prints are not but both of them come with a certificate of authenticity with the details like title, size and number.

Q: What are the paper sizes of your prints?

A: My prints are sized by their image size. They have a 2" border on all 4 sides, so add 4" to get the paper size i.e. 20x20 is on a 24x24 paper. The 10x10's have a 1" border (so +2") (see size chart below)

Metal Prints don't have a border and are in limited editions of 50.

Print sizes for images on an all white background (i.e. Monopoly) don't have borders so they have one size that is the paper size. each print has a border with a few exceptions: see below

Q: Do you offer framing?

A: All Metal Prints are sold framed with a choice of colors. Our Limited Edition prints on paper are sold unframed, with one exception, we do offer professional framing for the 10x10 on 12X12 paper prints only.

Q: What kind of framing do you recommend?

A: I recommend having your prints professionally framed in a black or white shadow box frame. In most cases, my prints have a 2" white border, so a mat isn't necessary (see examples below). Make sure to give your framer the paper sizes in the SIZE CHART ABOVE. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity so make sure to have your framer mount it on the outside back.

Q: What kind of framing do you recommend for original paintings? 

A: My original paintings have a 1.5" profile/sides and they are painted so they don't require framing but it does finish the look nicely. If you choose to frame your painting, I like to recommend a simple black or white floating frame, or a frame colour that suits the art piece. I encourage you to ask your professional framer about these and other options and see what they might recommend. 

Q: What happens once I have placed my order?

A: We are proud to say that all MICHELLE VELLA LIMITED EDITION PRINTS and METAL PRINTS are made-to-order exclusively at our professional fine art printers in Toronto and Montreal.

The Limited Edition prints are professionally printed with the highest quality archival paper and ink, hand signed and numbered by Michelle, then packaged securely with a certificate of authenticity included. The HD Metal Prints are not signed but do come with a certificate of authenticity.

Production can take up to 2 weeks plus shipping.

You will receive an email notification with a tracking number when your package ships.

PACKAGING & SHIPPING

• Limited Edition Prints are packaged securely with the utmost care. They are rolled carefully with glycine paper, then wrapped in a plastic bag, placed in a tube, then boxed, and shipped so that they arrive in perfect condition. We advise that you let your framer unwrap the prints so that they aren't damaged. The 10x10/12x12 small prints are shipped flat. All prints are shipped from our printer in Toronto.
• Metal Prints are securely packed in boxes and shipped directly from our printer in Montreal.
